Hall of Fame recipients from Anderson County

Inducted into the Eighth Region Hall of Fame — Eriel McKee and Makenzie Cann were the catalyst in the resurgence of Anderson County Girls’ Basketball. During their careers, they won a then-school record 149 games, 6 district titles, 2 region runner-ups, 3 regional crowns, with 2013 ending in the Final Four with a 34-2 record. They transformed the perception of Girls’ Basketball in Anderson County, paving the way for future players.

Makenzie Cann was a 4x All-Region selection, 2x 8th Region Player of the Year, 2014 KABC 8th Region Player of the year, a Finalist for Miss Basketball, and a KY All Star. To date, she remains the 2nd All-Time leading scorer, #1 in 3pt FG made, # 1 in assist, #2 in Steals, #5 in rebounds, and #10 in blocks. She went on to play at the University of Cincinnati, Southeastern University, and started two years at the University of Kentucky. Makenzie was not able to attend the ceremony during the Regional Tournament. Her brother, Nick Cann. accepted the honor.

Eriel McKee was a 4x All-Region selection, the 2014 8th Region Tournament MVP, a finalist for Miss Basketball, and a KY All Star. To date she remains the All-Time Leading scorer, #1 in 2pt FG made, #1 in FT made, #5 in assists, #1 in rebounds, #1 in steals, and #3 in blocks. She went on to play four years at Morehead State University, where she finished her career top 10 all time in 7 different statistical categories.
